Private Luxury Expeditions, Max 5 Guests Per Trip

The rarest places on earth aren't defined by distance. They're defined by access. Geographic, cultural, human. We built Waypoint Journeys to deliver luxury expeditions to places most operators won't touch. Every itinerary is crafted from the ground up by destination specialists and local experts who call these remote corners of the world home.

Our groups never exceed five. Not because exclusivity makes good marketing, but because it changes what's possible. Where you can go. Who you can meet. How deeply you experience a place. We set up private camps beneath desert stars, arrange dinners in thousand-year-old ruins, and partner with lodges and glamping operators who share our obsession with detail and authenticity. Without compromising an ounce of luxury.

From the Karakoram Highway to the Dragon Blood forests of Socotra, from ancient mountain kingdoms to destinations we haven't announced yet. We go where the guidebooks end. Every itinerary is bespoke. Every experience is unrepeatable. That's the Waypoint promise.

What Our Travelers Say About Their Expeditions

Common Questions About Our Expeditions

Waypoint Journeys is a private luxury expedition company specializing in remote destinations most operators won't attempt. Every expedition is limited to 5 guests maximum, with itineraries built from the ground up by destination specialists and local experts. We currently run more than two dozen scheduled expeditions across Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific — from Egypt and Bhutan to the Caribbean and the central Pacific — plus fully custom trips anywhere in the world. Prices start from $695 USD per person.
All expeditions include accommodation, expert local guides, ground transportation, most meals, and 24/7 on-the-ground support. The Socotra expedition (7 days, from $2,950 USD) includes camping under some of the darkest skies on Earth. Mongolia offers three tiers: 11-night ($4,950 USD), 14-night ($5,950 USD), and 17-night ($7,450 USD). International flights to the starting city are not included, giving you flexibility to book your own routing.
Physical demands vary by destination. Socotra involves moderate hiking and beach camping across 7 days. Mongolia ranges from comfortable ger stays to multi-day horseback treks. Pakistan's 13-day Karakoram Highway expedition is mostly vehicle-based with walks at elevations up to 4,693 meters (Khunjerab Pass). West Africa's 8-day cultural expedition is not physically strenuous. None require technical mountaineering.
Yes. While we run scheduled group departures, every itinerary can be customized or run as a fully private trip. Want to extend your time in the Gobi Desert, add a side trip to Lahore, or build something entirely new? Email us at info@wpjourneys.com and we'll design it around you.
Safety planning is built into every expedition. Our team leaders have years of on-the-ground experience in every destination we offer. We maintain long-standing relationships with trusted local partners, monitor conditions continuously, carry satellite communication equipment, and provide 24/7 support throughout every trip. Pakistan and Mongolia, for example, are consistently rated among the most hospitable countries in the world for visitors.
Every expedition runs in the best season for its destination, but many reach genuinely remote, high, or weather-exposed places — mountain passes, desert tracks, island crossings, and river routes — where conditions can change day to day. When a particular route or activity isn't accessible, our local teams adapt the daily plan on the ground and substitute an equally memorable alternative. This flexibility is built into every itinerary, so the published day-by-day is the intended plan rather than a fixed guarantee — and we always share honest, current guidance at the time of booking.
We recommend booking at least 2 to 3 months in advance. With a maximum of 5 guests per expedition, spots fill quickly, especially for destinations like Socotra where flight access is limited and seasonal (October through April only). Last-minute inquiries are always welcome if space remains.

Every journey begins with a single conversation. Tell us where you dream of going, and we'll show you a world beyond imagination.
